John March
John March joined Smith Gendler, P.A. in 2023 after working as an Assistant Hennepin County for over thirty years. While at Hennepin County, John represented assessors and taxing districts in property tax litigation. He supervised a team of attorneys responsible for handling property tax petitions and condemnation work. During his time at the County, he was involved in litigating all commercial property types, including regional malls, CBD and suburban office buildings, and corporate headquarters.
At various points throughout his career, he has developed litigation and advisory experience in the areas of eminent domain, adult and juvenile prosecution, child protection, and adult mental health commitment work.
John served on active duty in the Army JAG Corps with the 101st Airborne Division from 2000-2003, remaining in the Reserves until 2022. John graduated from William Mitchell College of Law, 1992, Augsburg College, 1989 and received a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College in 2015. He resides in Eagan, and he and his wife have five children.
