Nate J. Maher
Nate Maher joined Smith Gendler, P.A. in 2018 after 12 years in the assessment profession, both in Minnesota and Arizona. For Maricopa County, directly managing a team of 14 appraisers, Nate oversaw the largest desktop review in the country, completing over 350,000 parcels. He was responsible for over 75 appraisers on the desktop review project. He was active in many new technology projects, including drone imagery in the appeals process. He was an inaugural U40 scholarship winner for IAAO, and created and led several leadership seminars geared for under 40 assessment professionals with AZIAAO in Phoenix. He worked for multiple Minnesota assessing offices in Bloomington, Edina, Brooklyn Center, and Ramsey County.
Nate's commercial litigation experience includes all property types from small multi-family complexes to super-regional malls. His client's portfolios include all classes of property in office, industrial, multifamily, hotel, retail, and various types of specialty property (golf courses, recycling plants, contamination sites). He is a proud member of IAAO (International Association of Assessing Officers), MAAO (Minnesota Association of Assessing Officers), St. Paul Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA-STP), and National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP).
Nate graduated from the University of Minnesota-Morris in 2001, The Theatre School at DePaul University in 2006, and William Mitchell College of Law in 2014. He resides in Roseville with his wife and three children.
